Allergic reactions

Any reputable salon or spa will ask you to have a patch test if they are going to use strong chemicals on you. Patch tests are not normally carried out in a number of treatments such as body wraps, facials or beauty treatments in general.  If you are worried about a product, always ask for advice.  

If you know you are allergic to an ingredient such as nut oil, say so as there will undoubtedly be alternatives.  It may be that if you do have an adverse reaction and all the procedures have been followed it could be that you were just unfortunate.  However, if the therapist uses a product on you after you have told them you have any sort of allergy to an ingredient and you have a severe reaction you have every right to make a claim for compensation for injury.
