The trading standards institute has identified a possible safety risk with a small number of Cosatto Paris cots. In certain circumstance one or more of the sidebars on the cot could become lose and detached, which leads to the potential danger of entrapment.

The recall is due to two faulty batches. Details of the batch your cot came from can be found on the label located on the mattress base slats. The faulty batch details are:

1. Cosatto BS EN 716 1996 PARIS COT 006481 - LIGHT COUNTRY PINE; BATCH REFERENCE 27-03-09

2. Cosatto BS EN 716 1996 PARIS COT 006481 - LIGHT COUNTRY PINE; BATCH REFERENCE 19-07-09

No other batches are believed to be affected and the cots were exclusively sold by the store Smyths.

If you have an affected cot you should return it immediately to the Smyth store you purchased it from for a full refund. If your child has been injured as a result of Cosatto cot, then you should take legal advice at the earliest opportunity.
