Unsafe scaffolding puts workers in danger
A routine inspection by a Health and Safety executive found an employee working unsafely on scaffolding
The inspection discovered that employees of Shane Homes Limited were using scaffolding with no edge protection. The edge protection was necessary to protect employees from a 4 metre fall from the first floor. It was also found that the access ladder was the wrong size and not securely fastened.
Shane Holmes Limited were fined £1000 and ordered to pay £799 costs after pleading guilty to a breach of Regulation 6(3) of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
