More celebrities get hair replacement treatments yet research shows it often fails
Celebrities such as James Nesbitt, Wayne Rooney, Jason Gardiner and Jason King have recently stepped out into the public eye after having hair replacement treatment. This has led to some clinics which provide these procedures having up to 150% increase in clients. However, new research shows that some methods of hair replacement treatment can have a failure rate of up to 50%. This failure rate is very disappointing when some hair replacement treatments can take up eight hours to complete.
There are a number of different methods of hair replacement treatments. One method is where follicles are removed from an area of dense hair on the head and are then transplanted into the bald patch. Another way is seen as a new version of a toupee where hair is identically matched to a recipient’s own hair and then on a base made of lace, the new hair will be weaved onto this. It is then bonded to the scalp with surgical glue and then to blend in with the natural hair it will be cut and styled by a trained technician.
We represent a number of clients who have had problems with hair replacement treatments.
