The Accident

A lady contacted us after experiencing an allergic reaction for an eyebrow treatment she had received. This was carried out by a beauty salon who negligently failed to provide a patch test or explain the procedure involved. This would have determined how she would react to the dye and any injuries she sustained could therefore have been prevented.


She initially experienced swelling, redness, irritation and blisters due to a reaction to the brow dye used in the treatment. During the course of the next week, multiple areas of the face became swollen and irritated resulting in scabs, loss of hair from the eyebrows and minor scarring. As a result, she was unable to attend work and meet clients for two weeks as she felt conscious about her appearance.

How we helped claim compensation

We presented the claim to the beauty salon who did not admit liability and suggested a patch test had taken place and she was aware of the procedure, which she denies ever happening.
The beauty salon made an offer of £1,500 compensation but we felt that was too low considering the circumstances and advised our client to reject this offer. After providing extensive evidence to prove that a patch test had not taken place and the injury sustained was due to the salon’s negligence, our client accepted an increased offer of £2,500 compensation in full and final settlement of the claim.
