A Council has closed a children’s playground after a seesaw sliced a young girl’s finger, leaving the tip of her right finger ‘just hanging’ and her nail ripped off. The girl required surgery under general anaesthetic which lasted two hours to reattach it, and needed eight stitches.
The seesaw, having been described as ‘like a guillotine’, was neglected after poor maintenance.
The doctors are pretty certain that her nail will hopefully grow back in a year. However, the young girl’s mother fears that her daughter’s finger will be permanently deformed following the accident.
